I’m sure our family will make it through the conversion but I am concerned that a large number of people who depend on over the air TV for information will be left behind and, in some emergency and disaster situations, will be in real jeopardy. Congress created the TV Converter Box Coupon Program for households wishing to continue using their analog TV sets after the digital television transition. The government released a coupon starting today for 40 off a converter box. You will either have to have a converter box or purchase a new TV. As most people know analog TV will cease in 09 to give way to an all digital signal. Glad to have it, and it came in a very timely fashion. it was expensive compared to when they first came out and you got a coupon. While I personally wouldn’t care if cable TV went away - I never use the vast majority of the channels available through my digital Comcast subscription - members of my family do need access to selected channels and aren’t interested in jumping through hoops to replace cable with Internet based sources.
